Celebrating Success at the Grampian Rising Star Awards

Awards at Woodlands

There was a real sense of pride and celebration at Woodlands Care Home as residents and staff reflected on a fantastic achievement at the very first Grampian Rising Star Awards.

The event recognised the dedication and commitment of individuals who go above and beyond in their roles, and Woodlands was delighted to be part of such a special occasion. A particularly proud moment came as resident Isobel Sutherland, who had been nominated for Outstanding Contribution, was honoured for her continued support within the home. Isobel plays a valued role in welcoming new residents, helping to guide them through their first days, and even contributing to staff inductions and interviews. Her kindness and willingness to support others truly reflects the strong sense of community within Woodlands.

The celebrations continued as members of the team were also recognised for their hard work and compassion. Catherine Amoore was named Community Hero, even joining remotely from Tenerife to accept her award. Sarah Main was awarded runner-up for Carer of the Year, while Gordon Chessor received runner-up for Outstanding Contribution. Each recognition highlights the genuine care, effort and passion shown by the team every day.

These awards are a testament to the positive environment at Woodlands Care Home, where both residents and staff play an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. It is the shared dedication to high-quality care and meaningful relationships that makes moments like this so special.

The team would like to thank residents, families and the wider community for their continued support. Achievements like these are a reflection of everyone who contributes to life at Woodlands.
