Palliative Care

At our care home in Aberdeen, we provide a supportive palliative care service for our residents in need of compassionate care and support during the final stage of their care journey.

Woodlands Care Home has a team that is proud to be supporting individuals during a time of need. The palliative care team is trained to ensure that all residents within our home are comfortable during their stay with us, and our support extends to their loved ones.

What is Palliative Care?

Palliative care, otherwise known as end-of-life care, is a form of medical assistance given to those with a terminal illness or who are in the final stages of life. This can range from natural decline to more complicated terminal conditions.

The main aim of palliative care is to ensure the comfort of the individuals receiving care, with an emphasis on easing their pain and other symptoms, upholding their dignity and respecting their wishes.

In addition to providing care for residents, their loved ones are also given support during this difficult period, enabling them to spend precious moments together and receive the help they require.
