The spirit of teamwork and community was in full swing this August as nine care homes from across the Grampian region gathered at Woodlands for the highly anticipated Regional Summer Sports Day 2025. Opened with great enthusiasm by Divisional Director, Iain Cavanagh, the event brought residents, staff, and supporters together for an unforgettable day of fun, energy, and camaraderie.

From lively races to the ever-popular tug of war, the competition sparked not only motivation but also plenty of laughter and cheer. Residents embraced the chance to get active and immerse themselves in a little friendly rivalry, while staff joined in wholeheartedly, showcasing the true meaning of teamwork.

What stood out, however, was the incredible atmosphere of connection. The excitement carried over into the following morning, as residents excitedly swapped stories about the new friends they had made and looked forward to future meet-ups.

The event was a powerful reminder that age is no barrier when it comes to sport, laughter, and building friendships. It truly highlighted the joy and positive impact that emerges when care homes come together to celebrate community spirit.
