We pride ourselves on the exemplary services and facilities we offer, allowing residents to make the most of every day and live a rich and active life. We place importance on making sure residents are able to continue doing the things they love; our team goes above and beyond to really get to know all of our residents, listen to their likes, dislikes and learn about their hobbies and interests, and tailor our events, activities and excursions to their findings.

Our home is situated in the beautiful and historic city of Aberdeen. When we’re not hosting events and entertainment within the home, residents have the opportunity to explore and enjoy all that Aberdeen has to offer.

Your Life, Your Way

At Woodlands, we offer a vibrant and varied activities programme to suit everyone. Residents can take part in large group events, smaller group gatherings, or enjoy one-to-one activities, ensuring everyone feels included and engaged. Residents are at the heart of our Wellbeing Focus Group, where they help suggest new activities and provide valuable feedback on our programme.

Regular activities include the popular Morning Motivator sessions with our personal trainer, the Men’s Shed, Fizz Friday, outings to the Village Hotel on Wednesdays, and delightful afternoon teas at the Athol Hotel. We also host regular intergenerational events, welcoming visits from local nurseries and Brownies, creating joyful connections across generations. For those who are bedbound or prefer quieter moments, we offer pampering sessions and personalised activities in the comfort of their own rooms. Woodlands also boasts an aromatherapy room, providing a tranquil space for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Our Library

Our library is a designated relaxation space for residents and we have tastefully designed the area to support this. All books are easily accessible with ample room for residents to read their favourite picks. We have a variety of genres to choose from so that each of our residents has something that they will enjoy reading. We have spaces for small groups to sit if residents wish to relax with company. We update our bookshelves on a regular basis so nobody ever gets bored or runs out of choices.

Accessible Events & Activities

It is extremely important to us that the activities available to our residents can be enjoyed by all. We encourage residents to try new things in a safe, controlled and regulated environment. Our all-inclusive and accessible events and activities are designed for our residents, with the goal of motivating and engaging all those who take part. Our purpose-built home ensures residents are able to move around the home as independently as possible and partake is as many activities as they wish.

Residents can choose to engage in a rich array of activities and entertainment with our comprehensive programme, complemented by regular outings and special events. Each day brings a unique schedule, ensuring our residents never encounter the same day twice.

The activities team works hard to ensure diverse activities and opportunities at our care home in Aberdeen. Whether it’s planned day trips with shopping and leisure activities or enjoyable pursuits within the comfort of our home, such as board games, film afternoons and pamper sessions, there’s something to suit everyone’s interests and preferences.

We hold a number of yearly events at Woodlands including summer BBQs, Halloween parties, charity events and Christmas events all of which loved ones are invited to.
