What Our Residents Have Been Up To Lately

Events & Wellbeing Coordinator

Since Woodlands opened its doors in September of 2022, we have enjoyed seeing our residents settle into their brand-new home in Aberdeen.

Our residents have been enjoying a plethora of activities each and every day as organised by our Activities Coordinators. It's been a joy to see residents learn new skills, make new friendships and get creative during our arts & crafts workshops.

Residents have taken part in plenty of crafting sessions. With the help of staff, residents have made a birdhouse with unlimited biscuits and tea to accompany them and Christmas cards to gift to loved ones, as well as decorating mini Christmas trees in preparation for the festive season.

A few of the residents helped to decorate the large Christmas trees we have dotted in a few locations. We had a church service streamed from Craigiebuckler Church which residents thoroughly enjoyed watching from the comfort of one of our lounges.

During the colder months, we have been keeping warm and cosy inside by playing lots of board games. From scrabble, Guess Who and bingo, there are a variety of games for residents to choose from to play as pairs or in groups. We also hosted a bracelet-making workshop and listened to old classics in the cinema room.

Woodlands had its very own Santa's grotto where the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of residents sat on Santa's lap and were given presents to take away with them.

We are delighted with our Tiny Table which is a large interactive screen that has so many apps for residents to have fun on. A lady resident had a go at playing the drums on the Tiny Table which was a great sensory experience.

We have lots of exciting things planned throughout the month of December, so head to our Facebook page to see daily updates on what our residents get up to.

To discover more about life at Woodlands, or if you have any questions regarding our care services, we would be delighted to help in any way we can, so please get in touch with a member of staff today.
