At Woodlands Care Home, we are privileged to count among our residents two remarkable individuals, Isobel and Florence.

Their extraordinary friendship traces back to their nursery days, where they first crossed paths at the age of four. Over the decades, their bond deepened and despite the passage of time, they remained steadfast in their connection, culminating in an enduring 86-year-long friendship.

Isobel and Florence, two cherished residents of Woodlands Care Home, share a deep bond forged over a lifetime of friendship.

Their shared love for tea and buttery biscuits provides the backdrop for their regular catch-ups, where they relish each other's company and share stories of their rich and varied lives. From witnessing historical events like World War II and the coronations of both the Queen and King, to embracing the comforts of their beloved Woodlands Care Home, Isobel and Florence's friendship has remained a constant source of joy and support.

Their connection grew even stronger when Florence became a resident of Woodlands Care Home in September 2023. Recognising the importance of maintaining their bond, Isobel soon followed suit, eager to spend each day in the company of her dear friend and enjoy the vibrant social atmosphere of Woodlands.

While Isobel and Florence cherish their time with the wider community, they also value their one-on-one moments together, often found reminiscing in the tranquil surroundings of the garden cafe, weaving together memories old and new.
