A Day Of Footgolf And A Night Of Pizza

Residents at Woodlands Care Home in Aberdeen have been enjoying some memorable experiences recently, with a ladies’ outing and a special Pizza & Pint Night giving residents the chance to get out, try something different and spend quality time together.
The ladies swapped their usual heels for trainers for a morning of footgolf, putting their sporting skills to the test at the course. Combining elements of golf and football, footgolf proved to be a little more challenging than expected, with plenty of enthusiastic kicks, unexpected detours and balls finding their way off course.

While holes-in-one may have been in short supply, the laughter certainly was not. Residents enjoyed some friendly competition, cheering each other on and sharing plenty of memorable moments as they made their way around the course.
After working up an appetite, the group headed to Hazlehead Café for lunch and some well-earned relaxation. Over good food and conversation, residents reflected on the morning and shared their favourite moments from the outing.
Meanwhile, the gentlemen at Woodlands enjoyed an evening of their own with a special Pizza & Pint Night. Residents were given the opportunity to make their own pizzas, choosing their favourite toppings before cooking their creations in the home’s pizza oven.
Everyone got involved in preparing the pizzas, with plenty of conversation and laughter as they worked together. Once the pizzas were ready, residents could sit back, enjoy their food and have a drink of their choice while spending time together.

The evening was about much more than just pizza, providing an opportunity for residents to socialise, share stories and strengthen friendships. Bryan summed up the success of the evening with his own review, giving it an impressive 22 out of 10.
Both occasions provided a chance to step away from the usual routine and enjoy something different, while creating opportunities for friendship, conversation and plenty of laughter. At Woodlands, activities and outings are an important part of giving residents opportunities to follow their interests, remain socially connected and continue making new memories.
With plenty more activities and adventures ahead, residents can look forward to more opportunities to get involved and enjoy time together.
